What Car Does Lucifer Drive? The Devil Is In The Details

‘What is it that you truly desire?’

With his mojo, sex appeal, and wit, Lucifer Morningstar, played by the sensational Tom Ellis, plays around Los Angeles (LA) as he takes an indefinite hiatus being the ruler of Hell. Making the city his playground, he somehow becomes a figure of ‘help’ for those who need a favor to get ahead or simply just help a guy out. Though a fallen angel, Lucifer decided to cut off and burn his wings making traversing the big city of angels a challenge.

So what does Lucifer / Tom Ellis do? Well alongside his partner Chloe Decker (Lauren German) he does drive around the city lavishly, he has a special liking to that one car. That one car that somehow becomes that trumpet of his arrival to a crime scene. More or less.

So, what car does Lucifer drive in the series and is there going to be more of it?

Chevrolet Corvette C1 1962 – Lucifer’s desire to drive

Imagine this. A dead body, yellow “Police Line” tape all around, and the police and detectives hovering around. Then a cheeky devil drives in and says, “Hello there Detective”. Sounds familiar, right? Well, almost all episodes of Lucifer usually start with that setup. But the action starts with the devil arriving on his trusty steed. A lot of people have gone to the internet and asked what car Lucifer drives? And we have the answer for you!

The Chevrolet Corvette C1 1962, a black first generation corvette to be exact, is Lucifer’s car choice when it comes to driving around LA, to and from crime scenes, the precinct, Chloe’s place, to his club, and to pretty much everywhere the action takes them.

The car is the first generation of the Corvette sports car family produced by Chevrolet.

Introduced later in 1953, and produced until 1962, the generation is generally referred to as the solid-axle. The independent rear suspension was not developed until its successor, the 1963 Sting Ray, was introduced. Though this generation of cars was not as popular and well-received initially, Chevrolet decided to do some upgrades of which the 1962 models had.

Being the last of its family to be available on the market, the 1962 models still had the solid axle suspension as its 1953 brothers. But with the developments done, it was the quickest of them all. This was because of the two new engines. The engine displacement also increased with the creation of the 5350 cc (327 cu. in.) engine; despite the dual 4-barrel carburetor not being available anymore. Other notable improvements were the hydraulic valve filters used for the base 250 hp and the optional 300 hp engines. And for the first time, the rocker panel trim was seen on it; as well as exposed headlights. There were also rare options like RPO 687 heavy-duty steering and breaks, RPO 276 15”x5.5” wheels, RPO 473 power convertible top, and RPO 488 24-gallon fuel tank.

Though this was one iconic car, it didn’t last long. It was replaced with a new one by season 4 of the series.

What red car does Lucifer drive? The new one

By the end of season 3, we would expect Lucifer to arrive in his black Corvette. But in season 4 Episode 5, we see a shiny red car to which even Chloe was disappointed in. Who wouldn’t? We got settled on the black one.

Fans became confused why there was a change. Naturally, they started asking what red car does Lucifer drive now? Well, that would be the 1963 Aston Martin DB4 Convertible. This car was a change needed to signify the change in Lucifer upon the arrival of his ‘First love’ Eve, which ushered in a lot of changes to both Lucifer and his personality, and to those who are around him.

Produced by Aston Martin between 1958 to 1963, this vintage car made its debut during the 1958 London Motor Show. The distinct tube-frame body, designed by Carrozzeria Touring in Milan, Italy, caused a lot of buzz because of its continental look. The convertible model was introduced back in October 1961; it featured an in-house style quite similar to the Touring saloon (or more commonly known now as a sedan). It has been suggested that Lucifer should be driving a Lamborghini Diablo roadster, so maybe we will see that if there is a future series? Another suggestion is the Aston Martin Vanquish – so who knows!

And because of the show’s popularity, it has started to appear in other media such as Grand Theft Auto: Los Santos. But what car does Lucifer drive in the game?

Lucifer’s Car in GTA 5

Fans all over the world have been trying to make and build Lucifer’s car in the 5th version of the hit game Grand Theft Auto. Who knew that this sly devil would end up in an action-adventure game. It even has the storyline for the show, down to the tee; like the inclusion of Lucifer’s club – Lux.

Talking about Lucifer’s Car in GTA 5, unfortunately, for those who are looking for the replica Chevrolet Corvette C1 1962, the game doesn’t have it yet. But no worries, we’ve got you covered.

By using the Coquette Blackfin (Topless), and some modifications, you would be able to get a quite identical look to what car does Lucifer drive in the series.

Conclusion

No matter what car does Lucifer drive, we’ll always be head over heels for this fallen angel. The ever-evolving character that is Lucifer, or Lucy as what his dear brother Amenadiel would call him from time to time, will always be part of our binging habits. Not to mention watching out how the love story between him and Detective Chloe Decker and how it will blossom into a more mature and romantic relationship that it is now. We can’t wait for Season 6!

Down from his good looks, sharp-dressing game, and his awesome car, we can’t help but admire and emulate his character in day to day life. Just don’t go overboard and try to be a ‘vigilante’ and try to help solve murders and crimes on your own. Leave that to the professionals.

So, let us ask you again, one more time. “What is it that you truly desire?”
